Badholmarna is at Bovallstrand on the west coast of Bohuslän, between Hunnebostrand to the south and Hamburgsund to the north. The water around Badholmarna is called the Bottnafjorden, which becomes the Sotefjorden further out to sea. Starting from the square in Bovallstrand, Badholmsvägen takes you all the way to Badholmarna. Badholmsvägen is the road that runs behind the kiosk. After a couple of hundred metres it ends. You are there!
By car, the easiest way is the E6 to the Dingle junction. Follow the signs for Bovallstrand, that is, road 174. Once in Bovallstrand, follow the road along the water to the square. Coming from the south, turn left at the church and follow the road towards the square. In high season it can be hard to find parking right next to Badholmarna. If so, choose the long-stay car park opposite the church, towards the school.
By bus, line 860 (the Smögen express) runs from Gothenburg to Hallinden. Change there to line 862, which goes to Bovallstrand.
By train, the easiest thing is to ask SJ for the best connection to bus 860 (the Smögen express) and on with line 862 from Hallinden.
By boat, follow the channel in through the Bottnafjorden. Badholmarna lies inside Kö-ö. It is not suitable to moor at Badholmarna; use the guest harbour by the square instead.
If you have GPS on board, set it to: N 58 28.49; E 11 18.94. That should bring you right up to one of the bridges. With GPS in the car, set it to the junction of Badholmsvägen and Gullviksgatan in Bovallstrand. Drive to the end of Badholmsvägen.
